Five Unconventional Yet Absolutely Perfect Bridesmaids Gifts
Most brides give their bridesmaids the same type of gifts at their wedding. Jewelry, make-up bag, wine glass, yawn! While your bridesmaids will love any present you give them to thank them for all their hard work, let’s take a look at some unique ideas that will leave everyone gushing.
Embroidered Pajamas
Having a bridal party sleepover the night before the wedding? Or hanging out super early before getting ready in the hotel room? Create custom embroidered pajamas for a fun way to spend your final single status hours!
Pick out a cute set of pajamas with a matching top and bottom for your bridesmaids and have them embroidered on the bottom with each bridesmaid’s name. We recommend picking a set that feels super comfy and extra luxurious. Bonus points for matching your wedding’s color scheme!
Package them up like you would find them in a cute holiday display at a fancy store. Tie them with a wide ribbon and fold them into a pretty box. You could have a second smaller box with matching slippers or an eye mask! Or, add them to a spa kit for your bridesmaids to take home after the wedding to relax.
Weekender Tote
Your bridesmaids are going to have to do a lot of moving around with you on your wedding day, so why not give them an easy way to transport their belongings? Pick out a fancy weekender bag with tones that flow with your wedding and add a few surprises inside—matching makeup bag, luggage tags they can use later, a water bottle for the wedding day, extra bobby pins, and anything they might need to survive the whirlwind wedding day.
We’d encourage you to make sure bags have both handles and a strap to use over their shoulder to make for easy transportation. It’s also a good idea to make sure the bags are either unique to each bridesmaid with a totally different look to each or that you add something specific to each bag to make sure your ladies can tell them apart. If you’re differentiating bags by adding something, try purchasing a unique tassel keychain for each one with different textures and colors.
Custom Flats
Some brides want their bridesmaids to be ready to party all night on the dance floor. You can go all out and get ballet flats, or opt for simpler folding flats that fit in a clutch.
Sneak into their closets to find out what types of flats they wear. Then do your research and find out if those shoe companies make a ballet flat that will look good with your bridesmaid dresses and order a pair in your bridesmaid’s size.
You don’t have to order from different companies for each girl. Pick a company you know creates comfortable flats and see what they offer for customization options. If you can, add a little personality to the flats. Create a metallic tip or funky strap. Some companies even let you change the design of the sides of the shoes so they have an elegant pattern to them.
You’ve even got the option of using the same company for all of the shoes but changing the shape and style of the flats to each bridesmaid. So while the shoes clearly came from the same creator, they’re bring out the best details for each of your perfectly unique bridesmaids.
Sunglasses
If you’re the type of bride who wants give a gift your bridesmaids will use every day for the rest of their lives, we recommend going with fancy sunglasses. Pick a shape and style that best matches each bridesmaids’ face and order them with a little extra touch of something fancy.
Whether you’re adding a metallic flare to them, adding some crystals, or just going for a fancy colored lens, make sure you do something to enhance them for your bridesmaids as a special thank you. Don’t forget to pick up a container or pouch for them so they don’t get scratched up.
Aprons
Another useful gift is an apron. This is perfect for a foodie tribe. Look for cute prints and retro styles. You can find really unique ideas on Etsy. These don’t have to match since they won’t really be featured in your pics. Instead, select styles that really match each of your besties’ personalities. One of them loves pugs but another is into pineapples? Find those prints to make a perfect match!
As an added bonus, you could also throw in a few copies of your favorite recipes. Place prints into page protectors in a binder so your girls can create acollection. If your feeling extra crafty, include a few of grandma’s chocolate chip classics pre-made!
