Three Tips to Make Your Fall Wedding Become Autumn Personified!
Fall is in the air, and with it comes harvest-inspired weddings. What should you do for your fall wedding?
We would never leaf you alone here on the blog (see what we did there?) to search for harvest inspiration, so today, let’s talk about our favorite three ways to bring in the harvest festival style to your wedding and we’re even including a bonus on one major thing to avoid.
Do: Use Leaf Bouquets
While fall flowers are pretty, there is nothing more stunning than a bouquet made out of beautiful fall leaves. We recommend using silk leaves for this to avoid the inevitable crumbling of leaves that have fallen off of trees.
Bouquets are not only for the bride and bridesmaids to carry, but you can also use them as centerpieces at the reception. Having a pretty collection of leaves mixed with twigs and tied with twine will add a magical element to your tables settings as well.
Do: Have an Apple Cider Bar
Fall weddings are the perfect time to pull out the custom apple cider displays. Not only do they taste amazing and make incredible photo opportunities for your guests, but they make your entire venue smell heavenly. Let’s be real, nothing smells more like fall than apple cider! Plus, it helps create the cozy comfty feeling of fall to have a hot beverage to keep your guests warm and chatting!
Be sure to include some incredible options to mix into your apple cider, bonus points for also including apples in your decorative elements for your reception. Dark red apples, and even some of the green and yellow apples, will look amazing with you leaf bouquets and centerpieces as well!
Do: Add Cinnamon Sticks to the Tables
Speaking of both apple cider bars and glorious centerpieces, try adding a little cinnamon to the mix. This adds a natural scent to the mix of the perfect scents of fall, complimenting your apple cider bar beautiful and making the dark tones of your leaf bouquets jump out at your guests. The best part is if they are free standing on the table, guests can use them as stirrers for their drinks during the reception.
Don’t: Use Real Hay Anywhere For Any Reason
We mentioned the scents of your wedding a lot in this post, but if you notice, natural based scents like apples and cinnamon tend not to affect people who are allergic to scented things. Hay is a very different story. Many people are allergic to hay, and while it’s very farm-like, remember, your fall wedding is fall inspired. Skip hay that might make many of your guests ill and opt instead for classier fall-inspired elements for your wedding. We highly recommend you consider allergies of all scent-based kinds when planning your fall wedding and avoid chemically create air fresheners in favor of limited nature scents that come with things like apple cider and cinnamon sticks instead for a better guest experience.
